Matt Johnson was devastated when Samantha Barks started dating David Gandy.

The 30-year-old presenter split up with the 'Les Misérables' actress after their hectic work schedules put a strain on their five-month relationship, but he admits his whole world came crashing down when he discovered she'd "upgraded" to the 31-year-old model just three weeks later.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: "Sam and I cared for each other and the decision to break up was hard.

"When you genuinely have love for somebody it is hard to walk away. But it hurt when she upgraded to David Gandy. F**k Gandy.

"They were photographed together about three weeks after we split up, which was difficult to take."

The 'Your Face Sounds Familiar' star - who dated Alex Jones for six years before his battle with depression drove them apart - is on a mission to find love again but is adamant he won't be a serial dater.

He explained: "I'm not Steve Jones [his fellow Welsh TV presenter] and I won't ever be. I can't play around.

"The dating thing scares me and the game-playing thing scares me. Girls play a lot of games. I'm not used to it. I'm trying to go on dates because they are fun and I don't want to be alone forever, but I'm quite happy with my situation. I won't go around dating as many people as I can.
