Mathew Horne claims growing a beard sent his sex drive into overdrive.
The 39-year-old actor took a zinc supplement to help boost his facial hair ahead of an audition for the lead role in a biopic of late comic Kenny Everett, but the pills left him feeling so randy, he had to pleasure himself constantly.
He said: "I once had to audition for a role of Kenny Everett in a biopic. It was the era when he had a beard, so I had three weeks to grow one.
"I spoke to a make-up person who recommended chelated zinc. I achieved a beard but it did mean I needed to . . . "
And the former 'Gavin and Stacey' star even found Radio 4's shipping forecast broadcast a turn on while having sex with his girlfriend.
Speaking on Jamie Laing's 'Private Parts' podcast, he said: "I put Radio 4 on because the shipping forecast kicks in. I love it because it's nonsensical, soporific and then it fades out.
"But what happens at the end of the shipping forecast is that Radio 4 closes - but it closes with the national anthem.
"I was having sex and the shipping forecast was on and, I s**t you not, just as the national anthem kicked in.Luckily we'd been going out for a while, so we could both laugh about it."
Meanwhile, Mathew previously revealed he's more proud of his portrayal of Culture Club drummer Jon Moss in 2010's 'Worried About the Boy' than any other TV role he's had.
He said: "That was my most enjoyable job, and my biggest challenge as an actor, playing somebody who was still alive. I mean, Boy George didn't like it very much. But I think I did Jon justice."
