The 22-year-old fashion model and the 24-year-old footballer have become the latest couple to be removed from the ITV2 reality series after they were dumped during Wednesday’s (18.08.21) episode.

A public vote had opened on Tuesday (17.08.21) night with viewers voting for their favourite couples, and Mary and Aaron received the fewest votes, meaning they were sent home.

The vote comes just a few days before the series is set to reach its finale on Monday (23.08.21), where one couple will be crowned the winners and will walk away with £50,000.

Speaking after the result was announced, Aaron said: “I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’ve met some amazing people, made some incredible friends, and bagged a worldie, so I can’t complain.”

And Mary added: “The next step is dating – just some us time. We can’t wait to now start our journey outside.”

Earlier in Wednesday’s episode, Mary and Aaron had been crowned the winners of the famous baby challenge, which sees islanders handed a plastic doll that needs constant attention.

The couple – who were also voted as one of the least compatible couples in the villa earlier this week – were the only pair who seemed unfazed by the challenge, as they got stuck in with feeding, caring and comforting their little one, as well as changing its nappy when required.

Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank, Millie Court and Liam Reardon, and Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish all passed the challenge too, but Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran, and Faye Winter and Teddy Soares both failed to keep their child from screaming for long enough to pass.

'Love Island' will continue on Thursday (19.08.21) at 9pm on ITV2, ITV Hub, Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Player.
