Marvin Humes thinks he's a good shoulder to cry on for contestants on 'The Voice'.

The 28-year-old singer - who is a presenter on the BBC One talent contest - was catapulted to the spotlight in 2008 on 'The X Factor' as part of boy band JLS and insists he can understand what the hopefuls are going through since he's gone though a "similar process".

He said: "I like to think I'm a good shoulder to cry on. Obviously I have been through a similar process before but for us it obviously went very well and we got through every stage. I've been auditioning all my life, and sometimes you get no's. It doesn't mean you're not good at what you do, it just means you might not be right at that particular time."

JLS split last year - after performing together for the last time in December where fans gathered at London's The O2 arena for their 'Goodbye - The Greatest Hits Tour' - and although Marvin admits doing things without Aston Merrygold, JB Gill and Oritsé Williams is a change, he's getting used to it.

Asked whether it's weird without the boys, he told We Love Pop magazine: "Yeah, course it is. But you kind of get used to it. I've been doing stuff no my own for a little while now."
