Marvin Humes didn't accept an offer to host 'The Voice' until he spoke to Simon Cowell.

The 28-year-old star will be replacing Reggie Yates on the show - a rival to Simon's 'Britain's Got Talent' - and was delighted to have Cowell's support.

Marvin - who shot to fame on the 'The X Factor' in 2008 - told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Fortunately, he gave me the thumbs up. I was touched. Simon's always been very supportive and he would never hold me back."

Marvin will present alongside 37-year-old Emma Willis - who found fame in 2002 when she began presenting on MTV UK - and has been taking tips from her.

He explained: "She's a real pro. I've been a fan since her MTV days and I'm learning a lot from her."

Marvin and wife Rochelle Humes have had a few attempts at presenting ITV's 'This Morning' and he would be delighted if they were able to secure a more permanent slot on the programme.

He added: "If we got offered the permanent Friday gig we would jump at the chance for sure. We love doing it and the reaction has been fantastic.

"You get that natural couple vibe and you can't fake that. We give each other a bit of banter and take the mickey. It's really nice going to work together in a car too."
