With the full first season of Jessica Jones released to Netflix last week, the series has proved successful for Marvel TV, with the bleak and often dark show putting Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) right in the middle of action in Hell's Kitchen, New York.
Fans would expect a second season following the success the first has seen, but if there is indeed one confirmed, it might not come for a while yet because of scheduling issues.
Speaking to THR, showrunner and boss Melissa Rosenberg said of a second season: "I hope so. There certainly is storytelling wise. The question becomes 'is there actual time?' There are logistics involved, because Defenders has to shoot by a certain time, contractually.
"Actually, I'm not sure; I'm not involved in those conversations, much to my dismay. The first question is whether or not we will even get a second season. The second question is, if so, when? Will it be before The Defenders or after?
"I'd certainly love it to be before but there are things that play into that - time, availability."
First series to come from the original Netflix deal with Marvel was Daredevil, which also proved to be a big hit, and has a second season coming in 2016. Also coming next year is Luke Cage with his own series, whilst Iron Fist and The Defenders are expected to arrive in 2017.
Daredevil season 1 and Jessica Jones season 1 are both available now on Netflix.
