Martin Freeman felt like he was on "holiday" whilst filming the 'Sherlock' Christmas special.
The 44-year-old actor - who stars as Dr. John Watson in the British crime drama series - has revealed he relished the experience of making the eagerly-awaited special episode, in part because he was asked to wear traditional Victorian attire.
Asked whether he and co-star Benedict Cumberbatch enjoyed dressing more traditionally, he told BANG Showbiz: "It was very nice. It kind of felt like a holiday, like mufti day at school or something."
'Sherlock' is usually set in modern times and Martin admitted it was nice to take a "little detour" into Victorian London for the Christmas special.
The British star - who's appeared on the show since 2010 - said: "I mean, I suppose I never see our version as the true ... our version is in modern dress, you know. So it felt like a nice little detour.
"And as soon as you see Ben in the gear and you see me in the gear, we definitely look like Holmes and Watson, as opposed to Sherlock and John. It was good fun, it was really good fun."
