Martin Freeman has suggested a 'Sherlock' reunion is "possible" on the big screen.

The 49-year-old actor - who played John Watson in the hit BBC series alongside Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes himself - has weighed in on the idea of revisiting the story, and he admitted the ending of the fifth series was left open in 2017.
He told Collider: "I think [a film] is possible. It might be more likely [than a series].
“I think we’ve all left it so that it’s not a full stop, it’s just a big ellipsis or a big pause.
"To be honest, I’m a big believer in not outstaying your welcome, but I really liked doing it. I’m very proud of the show.
"It’s been a while now, it’s four years since a new one was on TV, so maybe the more likely thing is a one-off.”
His comments come after Benedict mentioned the idea of a movie adaptation of Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat's modern day story based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's literary detective.
The 44-year-old star admitted he would "never" rule out anything, although the 'Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness' actor pointed out how busy both the series' main "players" are nowadays.
Quizzed on whether more 'Sherlock' could happen, he said: "I’m the worst person to ask on this because I never say never, obviously. But I don’t know.
"And I’m the worst person to ask because my slate’s pretty, pretty full at the moment, as is Martin’s and all the other key players involved.
"So, who knows? Maybe one day, if the script’s right. And I say ‘the script,’ maybe it could be a film rather than the series. Who knows?”
