Martin Compston will reportedly star in 'The Rig'.
The 36-year-old actor is said to have joined the cast of Amazon Prime's new thriller, which sees a crew trapped on an oil rig in the North Sea as a mysterious fog surrounds them.
He will play communications officer Fulmer, who is fascinated with codes and feels more comfortable in his radio room than joining in with his colleagues.
It marks the first Amazon Original series - directed by John Strickland - made exclusively in Scotland with an ensemble cast of big names that are yet to be revealed.
Martin will also reprise his role as Steve Arnott in 'Line of Duty' and will make an appearance in 'Vigil' opposite Suranne Jones.
The upcoming BBC thriller series - which is set to air later this year - tells the story of a disappeared Scottish trawler and a death onboard a nuclear submarine.
A source told The Sun's Bizarre TV column: “Martin is now one of the most popular actors on TV, and not just because he’s been at the heart of five series of 'Line Of Duty'.
“He proved he could turn his hand to anything last spring when he delivered a top performance in the hit thriller 'The Nest', which was also on BBC1.”
