Martin Compston would be "heartbroken" if there isn't another series of 'Line Of Duty'.
The 37-year-old actor - who stars as DI Steve Arnott in the BBC show - admits he would be devastated if there wasn't a seventh series of the show as he'd love to work with his co-stars, including Adrian Dunbar (Superintendent Ted Hastings) and Vicky McClure (DI Kate Fleming), again.
He told ES magazine: "That's nothing new. Jed [Mercurio] always takes time away from it. I think what I would say, the two things I would say, is that the idea that I would never work with all the guys again together would be heart-breaking.
"But also with everything that's just gone on this week, I think everybody, including the audience, needs a bit of time away from it. So we'll see."
Martin previously heaped praise on his co-stars and the show's crew as he celebrated the end of series six, which marked a whole decade of him portraying the AC-12 officer.
At the time, he wrote: "Been a wild few weeks and mental 10 years with the most amazing cast & crews. None more so than the 3 below who I'd be lost without. A job of a lifetime only made possible by the fans tuning in series after series, for that I can't thank you all enough. (sic)"
The BBC previously teased there may be a future for the show.
Charlotte Moore, Chief Content Officer for the BBC, said in a statement: "I'm looking forward to having a conversation with the team about where we go next and what the future of the series might be."
