Mark Wright's travel series won't be returning for a second run.

A Wright Family Holiday hasn't been renewed

The former 'TOWIE' star turned TV presenter fronted 'A Wright Family Holiday' for the BBC last summer as he explored domestic tourist attractions with his brother Josh and dad Mark Sr.

However, the BBC has confirmed: "'A Wright Family Holiday' was commissioned as a one off."

There had been some hopes from fans for a second series of the show - which drew comparisons to ITV's 'Breaking Dad' featuring Bradley Walsh and his son Barney - but there are no plans in place.

An insider told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "The series was always going to be a suck-it-and-see job.

“If it went down well with audiences and got healthy viewing figures, the BBC would have been tempted to maybe explore another series.

"The Wrights would have been up for it, but it wasn’t to be."

However, the door is not closed and the broadcaster is open to the prospect of more projects.

The source added: “The consolation, though, is that the BBC is still keen to work with them and they could be offered another type of show in the future.”

During the six-part series, the Wrights travelled from Scotland to Cornwall - including time in Wales on the way - and delighted viewers with their adventures.

Mark previously admitted the show made him reflect on his life and how his busy career impacted his loved ones.

He said during one episode: “I can’t say no to work because I’m so in fear of losing it all. I have this real struggle overcoming that fear – that one day it’s genuinely all going to be gone.

“It spirals, doesn’t it? If I feel like I’m going to lose it all, that makes me work more, see my family less, and makes my head feel a bit more crazy.

“I know I’ve not been me and who I should have been the last few years, and that’s what this (holiday) is about.”
