Mark Wright has quit his presenting duties on 'The Dengineers'.
The former 'The Only Way is Essex' hunk fronted the kids' television series alongside Lauren Layfield for two years but has announced on Twitter today (12.04.17) that after an "extremely hard decision" he will no longer feature on the CBBC show.
He wrote: "After an extremely hard decision. I have decided to leave the show THE DENGINEERS I have been hosting for the last 2 years.
"I had such an amazing time doing this show and met so many amazing people on my journey. Thanks to everyone @Cbbc for this incredible opportunity.
"Il continue watching the show I am so proud of, a show I loved doing and a show I will never forget.@cbbc let's hope it wins more awards (sic)"
Although he's only just announced the news, bosses at the channel have wasted no time finding someone to replace the 30-year-old hunk as they've brought in former 'Hollyoaks' actor Joe Tracini, who's best known for playing Dennis Savage between 2011 and 2014, and he's over the moon with his recent signing.
He explained: "I'm over the moon to be joining the Dengineers team.
"I'm excited about travelling the country, meeting the deserving kids and their families and building some amazing dens."
Mark's departure comes as somewhat of a surprise as it was thought last year that he was taking the programme to the US after signing a deal with the Discovery Family.
However, although he's remaining tight-lipped on why he's walked away from the children's show, Jamie O'Hara hinted earlier this week that Mark could be about to play football for Billericay Town after he bought a 20 per cent stake in the club.
Jamie told The Sun newspaper: "Mark wants to be involved with the club as much as possible. He has talked about maybe playing. I think he's desperate to get down here. He's very capable of playing at a professional level and he should play as much as he can because he loves it. I think he was close to making it as a pro."
