Mark Wright is reportedly lined up to present ‘The Challenge’.
The former ‘TOWIE’ star will front the UK edition of the revamped 1990s show on Channel 5, with bosses "really impressed" by his work in front of the camera.
An insider told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "Mark really impressed the show's producers and they signed him up immediately."
The upcoming series will mark the first time that the show - which has ran on MTV for 37 seasons as a 1998 spin-off of two classic reality shows ‘The Real World’ and ‘Road Rules’ - is being made for British audiences with UK celebrities.
The source added: “It is a big deal as it is the first time the show is being made with UK stars."
Meanwhile, Mark is said to have finished work on the show last month, and bosses would love to have him involved again in the future if 'The Challenge' gets a second series.
The insider said: “Mark filmed the series at the end of last month in Argentina and he’ll be seen on screen as the celebrities take on a series of tough challenges.
“It is a role that was made for Mark because he loves fitness and is competitive.
“He got really stuck in during filming and if a second series is commissioned, the production wants Mark on board again.”
Earlier this month, it was first reported that 'The Challenge' is set to air in the UK later this year, with the show being brought to Channel 5 exclusively for the first time ever in the UK with a stacked lineup.
It's said the likes of former 'TOWIE' star Joey Essex could appear, as well as Geordie Shore's Nathan Henry.
Winners of the UK, US, Argentina and Australia versions of 'The Challenge' will go onto compete against each other in 'The Challenge: Global Championship'.
