Emmerdale's Mark Charnock wants the writers to get his alter ego Marlon Dingle together with ex Laurel Thomas and her new man Bob Hope to give them some much-needed advice.
The village is to be rocked as Bob (Tony Audenshaw) decides to leave his partner Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) to embark on a relationship with Lauren (Charlotte Bellamy).
Marlon and Laurel tied the knot after having an affair behind the back of Laurel's now late husband Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) before she went back to the vicar.
Mark admits his chef persona will be as shocked as anyone to discover that Bob and Laurel have been having an illicit romance but he thinks it would make for a great scene if and when Marlon gives his opinion on what has happened.
Speaking to the new issue of Soap Life magazine, Mark said: "I don't know what Marlon will think, but I'm really looking forward to that. There's a definite parallel there as Marlon and Laurel got together when she was still with Ashley. I'd love them to come and talk to Marlon about it."
Marlon has had his fair share of women in The Dales, with him previously romancing Bob's daughter Carly Hope (Gemma Atkinson), Bob's stepdaughter Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth) and Tricia Dingle (Sheree Murphy).
He is set for some fresh dating excitement with head teacher Jessie Grant and he admits it'll be good for him to be attached to a new character from outside the village.
Marl said: "I don't think Marlon is on the lookout [for love]. But when somebody comes along who is nice to him and who he finds attractive, he finds that appealing. Jessie sees beyond the geek. They are doing a kind of tango at the moment. I do like playing thwarted love, because it's so funny. Marlon wants to do the right thing but he always comes across as a little too desperate."
