'Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream' viewers can expect more than just ABBA songs as the area of battle for the contestants.
The ITV show, which premiers on October 22, will see hopeful performers competing for the leading roles of Sophie and Sky in the London West End production.
The creator of the 'Mamma Mia!' musical Judy Craymer - who will judge the contestants on the show - told ITV: "Audiences can expect total escapism - this show looks and feels like no other entertainment show on television. It is high-energy, feel-good, all-singing, all-dancing.
"They will see the contestants mentored through workshops, challenges, bootcamps and masterclasses. They sing not only ABBA songs, but other pop and rock classics, and perform duets and solo with full choreography and an ensemble cast.
"It's not just a talent show, it's a never-seen-before behind-the-scenes look at a world class musical theatre training programme.
"And that's important because it goes beyond the TV show – whoever wins will be working in the West End."
The talented contestants will be tested of their singing, dancing and acting abilities on a "sun-kissed Greek island", which ITV hopes will see audience members transported to the "magical world of Mamma Mia!"
Over the course of eight weeks, the 14 hopefuls will show what they've got, with each week seeing more and more unlucky participants having to wave goodbye to their ABBA West End dream.
The live grand finale will be held in one of London's major theatres, where the two winners will be revealed.
'Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream' will debut on October 22 on ITV1 at 6pm and can be streamed on ITVX.
