The 'Game of Thrones' actress has been confirmed for the upcoming Sky original show - currently under a working title - which will focus on a trio of misfits caught up in danger after a prank goes badly wrong.

She said: "[I'm] looking forward to getting into something new. I think Two Weeks to Live has really great potential and I want to make something incredible with this wonderful team!"

Maisie, 22, will star as Kim Noakes, who was raised in isolation and taught how to survive after her father's suspicious death.

After leaving her rural retreat for the first time, she goes to the city on a mission to honour her late dad, before meeting brothers Nicky and Dave in a local pub.

The trio soon find themselves with a huge bag of stolen money, and they have to set out on the run from the police and a murderous gangster.

Jon Mountague, Sky's director of comedy, added: "With Maisie Williams leading from the front, 'Two Weeks to Live' is to die for. Bold, British and very, very original."

The six part comedy - set to air on Sky1 and NOW TV next year - has been penned by 'Cheat' writer Gaby Hull.

Maisie recently admitted she is "constantly craving" an imaginative and exciting script to makes her "gasp" after being spoiled by her time on 'Game of Thrones'.

She previously said: "I read other scripts now and think, 'This is trash!' The stories are just not complex. And then sometimes you read a script which is definitely like 30 pages too long and you think, 'But there's still no twist!'

"It's sometimes really difficult to find something that surprises you. I think that's what the show has always done so well.

"And you can't do that sort of writing unless you're good at writing because otherwise it just becomes sort of nonsensical and you're just being shocking for the sake of being shocking rather than writing something that's believable.

"I'm constantly craving something that makes me gasp as I read."
