Ollie Locke and his husband Gareth burst into tears after being told their surrogate didn't get pregnant on last night's (12.10.21) 'Made in Chelsea'.
The E4 reality show returned for its 22nd season and in emotional scenes, the couple - who tied the knot on the programme last year - learned their attempt to become parents via surrogacy was unsuccessful.
Before a phone call from their surrogate, Gareth said: "I am so nervous. I was wildly pragmatic until now and now my emotions are high - now we're here, I'm on the brink of tears. I'm going to be so disappointed...
"We've done so much and waited so long and I'm ready to be parents now."
Ollie said: "I've been telling strangers in Sainsbury's that we're pregnant!", to which his husband replied: "Darling, we don't shop in Sainsbury's."
The surrogate then dealt a blow, when she told them while strugglingly to hold back the tears: "I'm not great. I'm so sorry - it didn't work.
"I've done five different tests - they've all come back negative."
When the couple told her that they will try again, she replied: "100 per cent, it's what I want. This is the biggest thing that I really want to do for you guys."
Ollie added: "The adventure continues."
The pair then burst into tears.
Later on, Ollie met up with Liv Bentley to share the heartbreaking news.
The 34-year-old star admitted to his co-star: "It's been a horrific 24 hours. You Build it up. I loved those babies already, even if they weren't there. They didn't arrive, they just went."
To which she reassured him: "It will happen, I know it will. I'll be there. Whenever!"
Meeting back up with Ollie for a picnic, Gareth told his other half: "This kid - you've already pictured what they're going to be like, but they're not there!
"How can you not go into it, thinking it's not going to work. It's devastating!"
Ollie said: "I want you and I to move forward. We want to be dads!"
Gareth said: "You are so reassuring that we are so ready to be dads..."
