Lucy Pargeter had her breast implants removed after they stopped her breathing properly.
The 'Emmerdale' actress says the first thing she did when she woke up from the operation was "panic because [she] could breathe" again, after the 42-year-old star had her DD implants taken out after 11 years.
She said: "They are out. I'm as flat as a pancake, I look awful but feel good.
"When I woke up in recovery, the first thing I did was panic because I could breathe - I could take in a massive breath.
"I thought they were trying to give me too much oxygen - I panicked. I forgot what it was like to have a full lung of air. I mean, it's amazing - I can breathe."
Lucy - who plays Chas Dingle - is now hoping the removal of her implants will spell an end to her anxiety as well as rashes on her chest, and armpit pain.
She told The Sun newspaper: "The surgery went absolutely fine, they were both really encapsulated, so they were both quite deformed. I know that everything is going to be much better, including my symptoms.
"Hopefully my joint problems and anxiety and the rashes on my chest and the pain I get in my chest and armpits will be gone.
"Why I had them done in the first place: vanity. That old thing called vanity."
Earlier this month, Lucy and her longtime partner Rudi Coleano - who have three daughters; Lola, 13, and two-year-old twins Missy and Betsy - split.
A spokesperson said in a statement: "Lucy Pargeter has confirmed she has separated from her long term partner Rudi Coleano and while no longer together their main priority is raising their three daughters."
