Patricia Hodge doesn't think 'Miranda' will ever return.
The 76-year-old actress - who played Miranda Hart's mother in the BBC sitcom from 2009 to 2015 - thinks the show was "lucky to have as much of a moment" as it did, and pointed out that viewers can still see it on television as it continues to make new fans.
She's quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Speaking personally, I would be surprised if it returned.
"All comedies have their moment and I think we were lucky to have as much of a moment as we did with 'Miranda'.
"But the show survives, you can still see it and it is continually attracting new viewers because it gets repeated across the world."
Patricia revealed she even got spotted recently by an American pair after one of them recognised her from the show eight years after it ended.
She added: "I was approached recently by an American couple, and the woman looked at me and said, 'Oh my God, you're Miranda's mother - my daughter is going to be amazed that we've met you!'
"So new audiences - younger audiences in many cases - will keep the show popular and in people's minds for years to come."
Meanwhile, the actress is staying busy and will return as Mrs. Pumphrey for a new series of Channel 5 drama 'All Things Great And Small'.
And despite approaching her 77th birthday on Friday (29.09.23), Patricia is staying busy and is currently treading the boards alongside Nigel Havers in Noel Coward's 'Private Lives' at the Ambassadors Theatre on the West End.
She said: "There are times when I think I must be mad to still be doing it at my age, but I know I am lucky to still be acting."
