‘Love Island’ star Liberty Poole has “grown as a person” during her time in the villa.
The 21-year-old waitress decided to leave the villa alongside Jake Cornish on Friday’s (20.08.21) episode of the ITV2 reality series after their relationship fell apart just days before the final.
And following the announcement they’d be leaving, Liberty admitted to the other girls that while she didn’t find lasting love, she did find plenty of other things to be happy about.
She said: “I’ve made good friends, I fell in love, it didn’t work out, I’ve grown as a person. It’s been one hell of a journey.”
Liberty and Jake were confirmed to be leaving the villa before Friday’s episode aired, but they explained their decision after their final date.
The blonde beauty told the other islanders: “We’ve just come to the conclusion that at this moment in time, it’s best for us to go our separate ways … and we’re going to leave the villa.
“We just obviously don’t want to be here and take up a place when you guys are all strong couples, and that was us at one point but that’s not us anymore.”
And while speaking to the girls, Faye Winter made sure to let Liberty know they are “all so proud” of her.
She said: “We’re all so proud of you, and we’ve just sorry that it didn’t work out for you the way it should have.”
While Chloe Burrows added: “It’s really not fair on you. You didn’t deserve this at all, and it’s so sad.”
Meanwhile, Jake insisted in the Beach Hut there is “no bad blood” between himself and Liberty.
He said: “There’s no bad blood between me and Lib because she’s been my whole journey in here. There’s been ups, there’s been downs, there’s been tears, there’s been laughter, you name it we’ve had it.”
‘Love Island’ returns on Sunday (22.08.21), with just one episode left to go before Monday’s (23.08.21) final.
