‘Love Island’ star Teddy Soares has officially asked Faye Winter to be his girlfriend.
The 26-year-old senior financial consultant went on his final date with Faye on Thursday’s (19.08.21) episode of the ITV2 reality series, ahead of the show’s finale on Monday (23.08.21).
And during their romantic getaway – which saw them take a dip in a pool full of rose petals – Teddy took their relationship to the next level by asking the estate agent, also 26, to be his girlfriend.
He said: “I’ve been waiting for the right moment, and what I would like for our future is you being my girlfriend. So, will you be my girlfriend?”
Faye said yes, and the couple are now the second official couple from this year’s series after Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish made it official just before Jake headed off to Casa Amor.
However, Faye and Teddy are currently the only couple still together, as Liberty called time on her relationship with Jake later in Thursday’s episode.
Following a week of rocky waters for the pair, the 21-year-old waitress admitted she was unsure if Jake was the one for her, and voiced her concerns about the future of their relationship to him.
Liberty explained: "I just don't feel like that you love me for me and I want someone who loves me for me."
In response, Jake said: "What we saying, then, are we saying we'll go our separate ways, then?"
And Liberty then removed her microphone pack before walking off to the bedrooms, where she was followed by Faye.
When Faye asked what was wrong, Liberty could be heard saying: “We’re done.”
Awkward tension is likely to set in during Friday’s (20.08.21) episode, when Liberty and Jake will be sent on a boat for their final date of the series as they are still coupled up despite not being romantically involved.
In a preview clip ahead of the episode, they return to the villa with an announcement to make which leaves the other islanders shocked.
‘Love Island’ returns on Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and the ITV Hub.
