The new week brings with it a whole new series of twists and turns for the Islanders inside the Love Island villa, and they’re getting things off to a shocking and bumpy start if tonight’s (June 27th, 2022) episode is anything to go by!
Speaking with Dami in the kitchen about her previous flames, Jay and Davide, Ekin-Su tells Dami that she does still feel "some sort of chemistry with Davide."
She explains: "Every time we're together, it's weird, something happens."
Dami responds: "You probably had better chemistry with Davide then, no? Than what you had with Jay but obviously Jay just gave you the things that you want."
Agreeing, Ekin-Su adds: “The things that Davide never did, because it was too early. But maybe if I had waited it could’ve worked…I keep thinking that, but it’s too late now.”
Is Ekin-Su right, or could there still be something for her and Davide in the future?
Meanwhile, Jay is questioning Paige about what he deems to be mixed signals.
She tells him: “I totally understand it can feel awkward and stuff when you see me be with Jacques. I just don’t like being that person in the middle, do you know what I mean?”
Jay then admits: “I won’t lie, this morning when I woke up I was feeling a bit of mixed signals. If you say you’re open to getting to know me, cool, but obviously last night I saw you and Jacques had a moment together and I thought maybe it’s just a bit too late for me...”.
This isn’t the only drama on the cards for the episode. Showing off what he calls his party trick, Dami attempts to read Gemma’s mind.
He tells her: “You’re happy with Luca right now. I feel like it would take a lot for your head to turn but there is a small chance that it probably could if someone really came in that was 100% you. I feel like that is where the confusion would probably come for you because we’re not here to play games. I feel like you’re still open in a sense, probably more open than Luca.”
Stunned, she replies: “Yeah, that was quite impressive. I don’t think you’re that far wrong.”
With Dami asking that the conversation remain private, Ekin-Su instead relays the 'reading' to both Paige and Jacques, the latter of whom then tells Luca.
News gets back to Gemma, who then confronts Ekin-Su, saying: “You have started this, you’ve made drama over nothing!”
“You had no right to say that and knew that was going to cause s***," she continues.
Though Ekin-Su insists it’s “not a big deal”, the tensions between the pair are now at an all-time high. Can they get a friendship back on track?
Finally, producers decide to throw the Islanders a surprise Blue Party, where Paige pulls Jay for a chat.
“You said you’d rather me be direct so…” Paige starts; but what is she going to tell Jay?
She's not the only one with something on her chest. Andrew's still unclear about Tasha's true feelings, so when she asks him to go to the terrace for a chat, could there be some clarity?
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and the ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
