ITV have confirmed the show is heading back to the small screen for a fourth series, hosted once again by Caroline Flack, in less than two weeks' time.

A message on the ITV2 show's official Twitter account read: "Wave goodbye to your social life, we're landing Monday 4th June at 9pm on @itv2. #LoveIsland (sic)"

The news comes just days after the show won its first-ever TV BAFTA in the Reality and Constructed Factual category.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz after collecting their prize, 2017 contestant Chris Hughes said: "For an audience to be so captivated and invest their time into other people's relationships, I think that's why it's so special.

"It's just a beautiful show. Marcel is going to change is Insta bio to BAFTA winner, and I think I'm going to do the same."

Fellow 2017 alum Marcel Somerville added: "For me being in the villa and being around people you've just met in a week and being able to build bonds with them, it was amazing to see all the friendships blossoming.

"It was just nice to be part of it. I'm happy. I can't say much more."

This year's contestants are yet to be revealed, but any smokers looking for love in the villa might be disappointed to hear show bosses are clamping down on cigarette breaks this year.

A source said: "Last year there were more viewer complaints about the amount of smoking than anything else.

"It did feel like someone had a fag in their hand constantly last series, so hopefully viewers will notice the difference."
