"I think I am at the point in my life where it would be quite fun to find someone and have fun along the way," says 28-year-old investment analyst, Jay Younger, about his reasons for joining Love Island at this stage in his life.
"And doing it in Mallorca and in the villa would be a great opportunity, so why not?"
Entering the ITV2 dating series as a Bombshell, Edinburgh’s Jay thinks he is going to be a "supportive Islander, I think I am going to bring a lot of fun. Hopefully some good laughs along the way and maybe some indecisive decisions."
He also thinks he has "what most females want. I've got a good job, I think I am a good-looking lad and I have a lot of fun so I feel like I could add a lot of value to their lives if they add a lot of value to mine."
Though he's now looking for love, Jay does admit that in the past he has been "very indecisive" and isn't "just one to settle down easily," before describing his dating history as "very unpredictable".
When it comes to what gives him the ick? "Someone who is quite needy. I quite like self-sufficiency."
Jay joining the villa also means that Gemma Owen isn't the only Islander with a famous footballing relative, as Jay says: "My grandad played for Liverpool and he was captain of Scotland back in the 1950s. He was in the Hall of Fame for Liverpool and he was in the Hall of Fame for Hibernian F.C."
Unafraid to go after what he wants, Jay says he won’t be afraid to step on toes if there’s a girl in the villa he likes who is already coupled up with someone else.
"I am very competitive," he says, "so I wouldn't be afraid to go after a girl if I wanted them."
Hopefully, he’ll do so in a respectful way! Or, we could see some more fireworks and drama hit the villa sooner than we could have imagined…
