The 23-year-old medical student and the model, 27, found themselves sent home from the villa on Monday’s (16.08.21) episode of the ITV2 reality series, after they received the fewest votes from the public out of the four couples who were at risk.

On Sunday (15.08.21), each couple voted for the two couples they thought were the least compatible, and Priya and Brett topped the list with five votes out of a possible six.

They then went head to head with Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish, Faye Winter and Teddy Soares, and Mary Bedford and Aaron Simpson – who all received three votes each – in a public vote, and were ultimately sent home when they received the fewest votes and were therefore not saved.

Speaking after her exit, Priya said: “My time in the villa was a lot of fun. I met some very unique characters, it was good fun.”

Priya and Brett – who is also a PhD student – had been having a tough few days, and although Priya admitted she has the “ick”, they’ve agreed to give their romance one more chance with a date on the outside.

Brett said: “My time in the villa has been a complete rollercoaster. I think we said we might have a date when we get back, so we’ll see.”

And Priya added: “Yeah, I feel like we’ll start off with a coffee date, see how that goes. But yeah, we’ll definitely be friends. Definitely.”

On Sunday’s episode just before the islanders voted, Priya told the other girls she was “bored” of Brett during a dinner date, as she found herself “zoning out” of the conversation.

‘Love Island’ airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and the ITV Hub, and episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
