Louisa Lytton thinks COVID-19 has ruined Ruby Allen's relationship with Martin Fowler.
The 'EastEnders' actress believes that the coronavirus pandemic has fundamentally changed their relationship.
Asked where their romance went wrong, Louisa replied: "Honestly, I think what ruined it was COVID!
"Before we went into lockdown, the relationship between Martin and Ruby was very fun, flirty and sexual - and obviously we can't play any of that side of it now, so you're just seeing a married couple, without the build-up of how they got there.
"I think we'd have seen more of that, they could have been really strong contenders for a great Walford couple."
Louisa first appeared on the show back in 2005, but she thinks her on-screen character has come a long way since then.
Speaking about Ruby's evolution, she told Inside Soap magazine: "It has been fun to play, as you start to see there's so much more to Rub than just the nice girl who was a gangster's daughter.
"Underneath this perfect world that she lives in, there's a lot more going on with her."
Louisa also thinks Martin would be better off with Stacey Slater.
The actress believes he still has more affection for Stacey than her own character.
Asked if she thinks Martin would be better off with Stacey, she replied: "Yeah, I do actually! I think Ruby brings out a different side to Martin, and that he does have love for her.
"However, I don't think anyone will ever compare to Stacey for him."
Despite this, Louisa ultimately hopes that Ruby is able to find some happiness in her life.
She said: "I just really hope that she finds some happiness, even if it's for a short period of time."
