Louis Walsh would opt for "assisted suicide".
The 64-year-old music manager has admitted he'd ask for help to kill himself if he had an incurable disease - to avoid going to a nursing home.
In a recent interview Louis was probed on whether he'd follow in the footsteps of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan - who revealed in 2014 that they've made plans to take the drastic measure if either of them fall seriously ill - and said: "Yes, I would. I've thought about that.
"I don't want to hang around in a wheelchair in a nursing home. I don't. I don't want to be like that."
And the 64-year-old X Factor star - who returned to the show after being dramatically dropped and replaced with Nick Grimshaw last year - is determined to have fun whilst he still can.
He added to Digital Spy: "I have thought about it recently. I would take some pills and fly off. That's why we have to enjoy ourselves while we are here."
Meanwhile, Louis kept a close eye on 'The X Factor' during his year off and said he was "smug" when it went downhill and felt it turned into a show that wasn't "family entertainment" anymore.
He said recently: "I was smug the first night I sat down to watch the show last year.
"It didn't work. I had a talk with Simon every week and he said: 'I want you back.' He'd have had me back in the middle of the series, if he'd had his way ... They were trying to make it younger. It was almost like a Channel 4 show. It was not the show I was on, not family entertainment.
"Simon tried a few things and it didn't really work and he knew that, he has a gut feeling."
The X Factor returns tonight (27.08.16), ITV, at 8pm.
