The 49-year-old documentary-maker revealed back in 2015 that the sic-fit cult's lawyers had told him they plan to make him the focus on a film, but he doesn't believe they'll have make dirt on him.

Speaking to Metro newspaper, Louis said: "I think it would be quite boring.

"They've got a certain flair for grandiose adverts involving a lot of CGI, dramatic music and knights on horseback thundering across a plain.

"Whereas the documentary projects I've seen tend to be hit pieces on journalists they don't like with silhouetted contributors making allegations of grotesque behaviour.

"They might find one or two people in silhouette to say, 'I worked with Louis Theroux, he never made me a cup of tea, he came in late and I don't think he changed his socks' but I can't imagine it's going to be very salacious."

Louis - who has made documentaries about a wide range of personalities and social groups, including survivalists, black nationalists and white supremacists - was informed about their plans after after he asked scientologists to get involved with his own documentary 'My Scientology Movie'.

His post read: "Open call to any #Scientologists out there. I would love to speak to you for a documentary I am working on. About Scientology."

The film follows Louis as he tries to reveal the inner workings of the organisation after he was denied entry into its headquarters.

A year later, Louis took to Twitter once again to reveal the Church of Scientology's plans for their next project.

He said: "Just been informed by Scientology lawyers that Scientology is working on a documentary about me. Little bit excited; little bit nervous."
