Louis Emerick's brother has died.
The former 'Coronation Street' star - who played Mike Thornberry in the ITV soap - has been left devastated after his elder sibling Jimmy passed away last week.
Louis - who is also known for portraying Mick Johnson in former soap 'Brookside' - tweeted: "Good morning all happy @Ballstocancer #TBT the only #Tbt pic I could post today, here with my 2elder brothers,Jimmy and David, from 2015,sadly,Jimmy(on the right)got his heavenly wings yesterday. So,a bitter, but more sweet today, that I have So many great memories,Goodnight Rkid (sic)"
Jimmy's cause of death is not yet known.
Louis is a huge supporter of male cancer charity Balls to Cancer, and regularly encourages people to get themselves checked out.
He recently tweeted: "Good morning all, happy @Ballstocancer #Willywednesday come on guys whip your #johnson out for inspection U know it makes sense and saves...YOURSFolded hands Have a lovely day whatever your up to.. #StaySafeStayHealthy #StayU (sic)"
As well as being a 'Brookside' legend and a 'Corrie' star, Louis ticked another soap off his list last year when he landed a guest role in 'Doctors'.
The 61-year-old star was no stranger to medical dramas, having previously made appearances in 'Casualty' and 'Holby City'.
What's more, he appeared in 'Corrie' as Mike, a love interest of Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard), in 2018, and previously admitted he felt nervous walking into the iconic Rovers Return pub, despite acting for over 30 years.
He said: "As I was waiting outside to go into the Rovers I couldn't tell you how nervous I was. I was pacing up and down, and I'm thinking to myself, 'Come on Louis, you've been doing this for 30 years.'
"But it's going into the Rovers.
"Even though it's changed location you still get that sense of nervousness because of all the people who have stepped foot in there before. Take away the nerves, you felt like you were standing on holy ground."
