'EastEnders' star Lorraine Stanley will perform a "striptease" as her character Karen Taylor over the Christmas period.
The 44-year-old actress - who has played Karen since 2017 - admitted that while her character is mourning the death of Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer), there is still some room for comedy over the festive season.
She told Inside Soap magazine: "Karen is grieving and she doesn't want anything to do with Christmas.
"Having said that, there are a few funny scenes actually. I can't give too much away, but there is a striptease – and Karen's involved!"
The BBC soap has teased a number of storylines playing out in Albert Square over Christmas, including the dramatic repercussions from the Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) attack mystery, which will start to air at the end of next week.
Meanwhile, Linda (Kellie Bright) and Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) look set for a rocky Christmas.
Kellie recently said: "Pre-Christmas and post-Christmas is particularly Carter-heavy…
"It’s potentially going to have a real impact, and I think it could be quite heart-breaking - although hopefully people will also see the positivity in it all as well.
"I’ve got a lot of scenes involving me, Danny, and someone else...”
When it comes to working with Danny, she heaped praise on her co-star and on-screen husband, describing him as "a joy to be with on set".
She added: "I just love working with Danny - he’s my partner in crime, and my best friend at work. He is just a joy to be with on set.
"I can’t tell people enough how generous he is to act alongside, and how much he makes me laugh - and makes me laugh at myself sometimes, which I really need.”
