Lorraine Kelly sometimes "wonders what might have been" if she hadn't had a miscarriage.
The 64-year-old star, who has 29-year-old daughter Rosie with husband Steve, has been open in the past about suffering a miscarriage in 2001, and she admitted she sometimes ponders the "parallel life" she could have had.
Speaking to Saga Magazine, she said: "Sometimes I wonder what might have been. You’ve got this parallel life that didn’t happen.
“I do remember vividly the time when someone said, ‘Oh this is very common’. They were trying to make me feel better, which made me feel worse.
“I thought oh my God, so many people feel like this.”
However, the host of ITV's 'Lorraine' acknowledged the importance of people talking about such important issues, providing they feel comfortable doing so.
She explained: "I think it’s good that we are talking about things like this a lot more. We are more open, and you should be.
“You should be allowed to grieve and go through that whole process the way it suits you.
“Some people don’t want to talk about it, and some do.”
The TV veteran also opened up on why she didn't have more children after Rosie was born, noting that it simply "didn't happen" for her and Steve.
She added: "We weren't doing anything to stop it from happening. But we never went down the road of doing anything about it, like IVF of tests.
"And by the time you realise it's not happening... I was in my early 40s, and just thought our time had passed."
Meanwhile, Lorraine is set to be honoured with the Special Award at this year's BAFTAs, which take place in London on May 12.
She was told the news during Monday's (25.03.24) episode of her titular show by 'Good Morning Britain' star Susanna Reid.
Lorraine was surprised by the news, and reflected: "I was a baby, I got my chance in breakfast television because they were willing to take a risk on someone who was told I’d never make it to TV because of the way I speak."
