Lorraine Kelly is hoping that she'll have piles of books about Antarctica this Christmas.

The 'Daybreak' host is "fascinated" with the freezing cold land mass - the most southern continent on Earth - and as well as reading about the area she'd also love a festive jumper inspired by the continent.

She said: "I am a nightmare to buy presents for because I am not really into 'stuff' like jewellery or clothes. I do like books though, especially about Antarctica. I also like the idea of giving a donation to charity.

"I'm fascinated by Antarctica and I love penguins, so if I could design my own Christmas jumper it would have mum, dad and baby penguin on it."

Lorraine has teamed up with several fellow celebrities to don Christmas jumpers in support of Save the Children, including former 'Britain's Got Talent' winners Ashleigh Butler and her dancing pet pooch Pudsey, and the pair cannot wait to get stuck into another pantomime again this year.

The 18-year-old star said: "This Christmas will be special for both Pudsey and I because it's going to be our second year of doing panto. Last year we were a little bit nervous about it but this year we can't wait to do it all over again."

Lorraine and Ashleigh and Pudsey have joined forces with several other celebrities including Rochelle Humes, Julie Walters and Myleene Klass to support Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children, which is on Friday December 13.
