Lorraine Kelly broke down in tears during a special episode of her talk show to celebrate her 60th birthday.
The TV presenter didn't know what to expect on this morning's (29.11.19) 'Lorraine' episode, which saw Ben Shephard take the reins and featured a number of surprises, including Chris Kamara jumping out of a huge birthday cake and Lorraine being given the title of national Honorary Colonel of the Army Cadets.
Ben, who wore a kilt for the show, said: "Your first surprise is, I'm taking over the show today. You have no scripts, no briefs. Nothing. Which, let me tell you, if you do host a live television show that's the most terrifying thing in the world.
"It's like being naked, or like wearing a kilt the traditional way. She's got no idea what is in store."
Lorraine - who turns 60 tomorrow - confessed: "It's quite scary! I'm feeling quite emotional actually, I've no idea what's going to happen."
She was serenaded by bagpipe band Red Hot Chilli Pipers and had another shock when Kammy jumped out of the cake while wearing a T-shirt with Lorraine's face on.
But the TV legend couldn't hold back the tears later in the show when members of the army and cadets told her she was being given the title of national Honorary Colonel of the Army Cadets.
She said: "Seriously? Gosh that's amazing. I'm so honoured. Thank you. Goodness me. I'm so thrilled. I can't wait to work with you again."
Several huge stars left birthday video messages for Lorraine, including Dolly Parton, Boy George, and Kylie Minogue.
And Craig David appeared in the studio to wish her a happy birthday, and he praised her as a "beautiful human being".
Elsewhere, Lorraine was in tears again later on when her brother Graham and 25-year-old daughter Rosie appeared via video link from Singapore.
Lorraine said: "This is a great surprise, this is the best surprise".
And the presenter closed the show by thanking her team and the viewers for "sticking with [her] for so long".
She said: "I can't believe all the things you've done for me, that was fantastic. And seeing Rosie, thank you so much.
"Thank you to my amazing team, and most of all thanks to all of the viewers for watching and for sticking with me for so long.
"Here's to the next 60 years."
