Lisa George was left half-blind in one eye after suffering a mini stroke four years ago.
The 'Coronation Street' actress cannot completely see out of her right eye due to the incident, and she was also hit in the eye with some rope.
She said: "I haemorrhaged behind my optic nerve four years ago and I’m half-blind in my right eye, they said it was like a stroke but also I got hit in the eye with a bit of rope.
"They think I’d had some mini-stroke but a specialist said it has to be the rope, I still don’t know.
"I lost my peripheral."
Lisa competed on the 12th series of 'Dancing on Ice' earlier this year, and, bizarrely, the cobbles actress - who plays Beth Sutherland on the ITV soap - discovered she had been treated by her skating partner Tom Naylor's father three years beforehand.
She added to The Sun Online: "Anyway I went to see a Dr Naylor in Blackpool. Then when I was doing 'Dancing On Ice' I got talking to Tom and he’s also a doctor.
"He was telling me that his dad is also a doctor, he's an Ophthalmologist. He said he worked in Blackpool, and I was like, 'I went to see an eye doctor in Blackpool,' and he asked what he looked like and I said, 'He's bald.'
"He was like, 'My dad's bald.' What is the likelihood of that - I’d seen his dad three years before we even met."
After being eliminated from the ice-skating show, Lisa - who finished fifth - was delighted with her progress on the programme.
She said: "I'm made up I got this far, to be honest. I've had the best time and met the most amazing beautiful people; I couldn't wish for anything more. Thank you, Tom."
