The former 'EastEnders' actress took to her Instagram account to reveal the 'MasterChef' judge popped the question to her on Christmas Day (25.12.18) while they were on holiday, and as a result the 46-year-old star can't wait to "embrace every minute of" 2019.
She wrote: "My gorgeous John completely surprised me on Christmas Day and asked me to marry him! After waiting to tell our family when we got home we then had a few days just grinning at each other!! Im so very happy to share our lovely news with you. Happy 2019 it's going to be quite a year and I'm going to embrace every minute of it. All you need is love. Love is all you need. (sic)"
Lisa wrote her message alongside a selfie with John, in which she showed off her huge sparkler on her engagement finger.
John, 53, also took to Instagram to share a snap of the former 'Holby City' star with a big grin on her face on their holiday.
He wrote: "And she said YES !! Bloody love my Lisa .. Have put a ring on it (sic)"
Over the festive period, John wished his fans a merry Christmas and admitted he was having fun in the sun with his significant other.
He shared: "Happy Holidays you all .. hope you had the bestest Christmas .. I have love my time in the sun @lisafaulkner1 (sic)"
On Christmas Day, Lisa wrote: "Hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas! lots of love from me and @johntorodecooks (sic)", but her engagement finger was covered up in the photo.
The couple met when Lisa won 'Celebrity MasterChef' in 2010, and they started dating in 2012.
