Lisa Appleton's daughter Sophia has quit 'Love Island' - just weeks before filming was scheduled to start.
The 27-year-old star has claimed she was meant to take part in the ITV2 show this summer but has pulled out at the last minute after she met someone she can see having a potential relationship with.
Taking to her Facebook account, she wrote in a since-deleted post: "Well as you all know, I could of been on Love Island this year, everyone keeps asking me what's going on... so I'm putting it out there... it was a hard choice to make, but due to a potential relationship in my life I decided to turn it down a few weeks ago. However I wish all the best for the luck people that get to compete, find love and win the show, £50,000 and in return hopefully a successful life."
Not much is known about the forthcoming series but the romantic reality TV show proved such a huge success last year with explosive rows, tears, tantrums and hook ups, that bosses have decided to extend the running time by by another week to create even more drama and sexual tension.
A source said recently" "Due to the massive success of last year's series among viewers, bosses have decided to extend the current one by a week. They hope this will give contestants a greater chance of finding love and lead to more summer loving than ever before."
Meanwhile, it was confirmed earlier this year the Caroline Flack will return as the host.
She said recently: "I saw the casting tapes for this years Love Islands peeps yesterday .... LOTS OF TATS... LOTS OF SKIN... LOTS OF LOLS (sic)"
Further details on the forthcoming series are being kept under wraps for now but it's believed Caroline will make unexpected appearances in the Spanish villa, where the dating hopefuls will be staying, in order to shake up the series by delivering shock announcements and surprise twists that will put pressure on the new relationships.
