Lindsay Lohan wants to appear on BBC 3's 'Ja'mie: Private School Girl'.

The 'Mean Girls' actress is "obsessed" with the comedy about a private grammar school in Sydney and is "pushing" to appear on the second series, and has even come up with ideas for a character she could play.

Comedian Chris Lilley - who both writes the show and stars as Ja'mie - revealed: "Katy Perry's probably the biggest [star] that's been talking about it.

"We did a thing the other day where they met and had a little chat. Lindsay Lohan is completely obsessed with the show.

"She's come up with an idea for a character and is pushing to appear in series two as a kind of American exchange student.

"Who knows, if it works for the story then... it seems like she'd be really cool."

Lindsay - who has been on Chris' mockumentaries 'We Can Be Heroes' and 'Summer Heights High' - gushed about Ja'mie admitting she's a "huge fan" of the programme.

Talking on Australia's KIIS 1065 radio station, she said: "I'm obsessed with the show. I'm a huge fan. I would love to appear in the show. That would be awesome. I would be Ja'mie's mentor.

"Someone I know contacted him about it. I always have the show on."

Chris has also had interest in 'Ja'mie: Private School Girl' from a number of other celebrities, claiming Kylie Jenner often posts Ja'mie images on social media sites.

He told The Sun newspaper: "I have lots of people contact me. The ones that have reached out have been Katy Perry, Lindsay Lohan - Ellie Goulding is way into it - she messages. Some of the Kardashian kids are into it. Kylie Jenner likes to post Ja'mie photos on her timeline."
