Linda Robson at Mothercare's Christmas event

Filming 'Birds of a Feather' has caused stress for Linda Robson.

The classic sitcom, which starred Linda, Pauline Quirke and Lesley Joseph, will return for a brand new series on ITV in early January - 15 years after the last series aired on BBC One - and the actress admits it's become more difficult to learn lines as the cast have got older.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "We've just finished filming now, we finished on Sunday. We filmed eight episodes for ITV. It was stressful ... we're all older and learning the lines is quite hard. We had changes right up until the last minute and even sometimes on the live recording we'd have changes.

"But I think it's going to be a really good series; we've all worked so hard - the writers, us, directors and producers."

'Birds of a Feather' follows the hijinks of sisters Tracey (Linda) and Sharon (Pauline), and their man-eating neighbour Doreen (Lesley), and the trio were heavily involved with the storylines for the new run of episodes.

The 55-year-old star said: "We always did lots of line changes and swapping, saying, 'That's more a Sharon line, that's more a Doreen line.' So we always sort of workshopped everything really, just to put it into our words and the way we speak, and the writers are fine with that. We're all very hands on with it."

Linda also praised the show's "great cast", which has expanded with the additions of Busted singer Matt Willis and Pauline's son Charlie Quirke playing Linda's sons Garthy and Travis, respectively.

Speaking at Mothercare's Christmas event to celebrate the revamp of its flagship Oxford Street store in London on Thursday (28.11.13), she enthused: "It's just been fantastic, it really has, and we're really excited."
