Linda Robson wants to take on a role in a serious drama - but thinks her spot on 'Loose Women' is stopping her from being considered for those types of parts.
The 59-year-old actress has been a regular on the ITV daytime panel show since 2012 and has also appeared on various reality shows, including 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' and most recently 'Gone To Pot' - which followed her and other celebs go on a road trip and experiment with cannabis.
Linda's most famous acting role is in long-running sitcom 'Birds of a Feather' but she yearns to test her talents in a more gritty part but thinks her other television work stops casting directors from considering her.
In an interview with latest issue of TV Times magazine, she said: "I'd really like to do some more acting, particularly drama. When you do a show like 'Loose Women' or reality shows like 'Gone To Pot', which I did recently, people see you as more of a celebrity than an actress and you stop getting offered those jobs. I'd really like to be in something like 'Marcella' or 'Victoria' - I could be one of the servants."
While she is waiting for the part of her dreams, Linda does regularly get offered more opportunities for reality TV but she's saying no for now, even to 'Strictly Come Dancing' bosses who are desperate for her to brave the ballroom like her fellow 'Loose Women' panellists Ruth Langsford, Gloria Hunniford, Lisa Riley, Lady Penny Lancaster-Stewart, Denise Van Outen and Christine Lampard.
Spilling on her 'Strictly...' offers from the BBC, Linda shared: "I've been asked a couple of times but I've always said no because I just can't dance. I'd be the joke. I'd be the one in Lycra being swung around, I'd be the Anne Widdecombe."
