ITV series 'Liar' will return to screens in autumn 2019.
The first season of the rape drama concluded in October 2017 and but writing duo, brothers Harry and Jack Williams, have confirmed it is coming back and viewers will find out who killed the character Andrew Earlham, played by Ioan Gruffudd.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Harry and Jack, who also created 'The Missing' and its spin-off 'Baptiste', admitted that the psychological thriller would be back "in autumn, probably."
The duo added: "We're shooting in March."
The series finale drew an overnight audience of more than six million viewers tune in to see Laura Neilson (Joanne Froggatt) bring serial rapist, Andrew, to justice, but in a shocking conclusion Andrew was seen lying on the marshes dead with his throat slit.
Froggatt and Gruffudd will both reprise their roles in the highly-anticipated second series which will explore who killed Andrew in the form of flashback sequences.
Looking forward to the second series, Harry previously confessed that there are a few avenues they want to explore to find out what happened in the "missing weeks" before Andrew's death.
Harry said: "There are certainly a few suspects and we hope to explore that further. Andrew has been missing for several weeks and then we see his dead body in the empty marshlands. The question is: what happened in those missing weeks that led to Andrew's demise?"
