The 21-year-old star smooched newcomers Salma Naran and Clarisse Juliette, and he got a lap dance from Lillie Haynes, in Casa Amor during a task on Monday's episode (26.07.21), despite being coupled up with Millie Court.

His sister Niamh tweeted: "Remember there is a family member/family friends behind all contestants accounts.

"Understandably with this type of reality programme there will be various judgments and reactions but any vile, vulgar or threatening messages will not be tolerated.

"He’s my younger brother."

Liam's friend Joshua Ritchie - who appeared on the first series of the ITV2 dating show - has urged people to think before sending abusive messages online.

He said: "One of my friends is on Love Island, his sister is receiving death threats on his account.

“Before writing something on social media just remember who’s behind the phone.”

And on last night's (27.07.21) episode, Liam admitted he "gets on" with Lillie before explaining where he stands right now.

He told her: "My head is with Millie. But I’m here, I’m not in the villa. I’ve known Millie for two and a half weeks and I've been spending every day with her. Where is your head at?”

She replied: "You. I’m not going to even play it cool!”

Earlier this month, Lucie Donlan - who appeared on the show in 2019 - had to call in the police after being threatened daily by vile trolls.

She said: "It’s actually been worse recently than when I came out of the villa.

"I think because everyone is just at home on their phones. At points I’ve had one [death threat] every day, and it is the same people, so I have reported them to the police.

“It’s made me really anxious. When I came off the show, I was so busy that I never really had time to look at my phone.

"But this year it felt much harder to escape the comments. It was so hard for me and my family. Luckily they and my boyfriend were so supportive."
