The 46-year-old musician revealed on Thursday (05.09.19) that he had a meeting about taking on a role in the BBC series, which stars Cillian Murphy.

When asked by a fan on Twitter if he had any plans for the day, Liam replied: "Thought you'd never ask yeah I'm of to meet a man about a part in peaky blinders Why me Why not see ya (sic)."

When asked what his Birmingham accent is like, the Manchester-born star said: "It's biblical."

Last month, Liam released the music video for his latest single, 'One Of Us', which sees him tackle the break-up of Oasis, family issues and "a potential reconciliation".

The promo was written by Steve Knight and helmed by Anthony Byrne - the duo behind 'Peaky Blinders' - and the former said it's turned out to be exactly the story "Liam wanted to tell".

He said: "It was a pleasure for me to venture into this new world of music video.

"No matter what the form, storytelling is storytelling and I really responded to the story Liam wanted to tell. It has become a creatively fruitful collaboration."

Images of the Liam, former Oasis bandmate and sibling Noel, 52, along with their eldest brother Paul Gallagher, 53, feature in the black and white music video, which is titled 'One Of Us: The Ballad of the Blue Eyed Boy', as Liam reflects on their happier years together.

The sombre promo also sees three actors playing the siblings as kids.

Meanwhile, 'Peaky Blinders' season five hit screens last month and the hit crime drama series has moved from BBC Two to BBC One.

Steven previously remained coy on whether any big-name stars will appear in the show, admitting he approaches celebrity cameos with caution because he wouldn't want such actors to "swamp" the drama.

He added: "It's difficult because some great people come to us and say they want to be in it. Some people would swamp it if they were in it.

"So we try not to do that. But if a really good actor expresses an interest and there's a role they would be interested in then..."
