'Let's Dance For Comic Relief' will no longer air.
Bosses of the BBC show, which features celebrities performing famous dance routines in a bid to raise money for the British charity, are hoping to think of exciting new shows to fill the time following its axe.
A BBC spokesman said: "'Let's Dance For Comic Relief' is a fantastic show which has raised lots of money for a very good cause. But for next year's Sport Relief we are keen to try some different ideas, and will have a range of programmes to support the charity across the BBC channel."
The first series aired between February and March 2009 and was won by Robert Webb. It raised more than £300,000 for Comic Relief, which was founded in 1985 by the comedy scriptwriter Richard Curtis and comedian Lenny Henry.
Since then winners have included Rufus Hound, James Thornton, Charlie Baker, Rowland Rivron and most recently, 'Coronation Street' actor Antony Cotton beat 'I'd Do Anything' star Jodie Prenger in March this year.
