Letitia Dean is looking forward to taking on the "challenge" of filming 'EastEnders' during the coronavirus pandemic, but admitted the cast will be "a bit anxious" about returning to work.
The 52-year-old actress and her co-stars are due to be back on the set of the BBC One soap this month, and while she can't wait to get her teeth into her new scripts, the star admitted her and her fellow Walford residents will no doubt be a bit nervous after a three-month break due to the enforced lockdown.
She said: "It's going to be a different way of working.
"I try and think of it as a positive, though, and as a challenge. It's something new, and sometimes it's good to work outside of your normal box, if you like, so I'm looking forward to it.
"I'm sure everyone's going to be a bit anxious as, once you take your foot off the pedal you question everything.
"Even when you come back from holiday you think, 'Ooh, can I still do it?'
"But we have some fabulous new scripts, so that's exciting."
'EastEnders' is currently off air after the soap ran out of episodes during the break, but the show ended with a perfect doof doof moment as Letitia's character Sharon Mitchell took control of the Queen Vic pub from under the nose of her estranged husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
Letitia admitted she appreciated the break when lockdown first started because of the soap's hectic schedule, but soon started to miss her co-stars.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "I've certainly missed seeing everybody.
"When lockdown first started you thought, 'Oh, OK, we're not working!'
"As we are always quite busy. But then of course it hits you, and you go, 'Oh, no. I really miss it and I want to go back.'
"I think that it has been quite difficult for everybody. I've been so involved in the show for so long and I love it beyond measure, so I just can't wait to return."
