Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has suggested over 70s should stay indoors to minimise the risk of contracting the disease, but the 75-year-old dancer has still been for a "nice walk" and had contact with his family, though he admitted he's not entirely "clear" on what the guidance means.

Speaking to 'Good Morning Britain' hosts Piers Morgan and Ranvir Singh, he said: "I'm probably not clear [on what to do]. However, I've made it clear in my own mind and I'm not gonna go down pubs, I'm not gonna go anywhere where there's gangs of people.

"I had a nice walk out in the garden, over the weekend I met my son and his wife and my grandchildren in a park, we kept a safe distance. I don't mean 100 yards away but we had a little chat, I didn't kiss and cuddle anyone.

"I got myself out and about in a safe way as far as I'm concerned."

And the former 'Strictly Come Dancing' star has been finding lots of tasks to keep himself occupied now he's spending more time indoors than usual.

He continued: "No one knows what to do so you've got to make your own decisions.

"I stay indoors, I've just sorted out my sock drawer, having a little sort out of things, I'm doing a jigsaw, I'm getting out and I'm doing things."

Fellow famous OAP Gyles Brandreth is planning to use the extra time at home to read the dictionary.

The 72-year-old star told 'GMB': "We have to take that hit there's no choice. I was due to be opening a show on Friday with Dame Judi Dench and now all the people... they've postponed.

"We will, as Dame Judi said, we'll be back!

"People over 70 are being told to social distance, basically if you can stay at home.

"I've got the dictionary, I've never had it before! It's going to keep me busy for the next 12 weeks."
