Lee Mead is "facing things head on" following the breakdown of his marriage to Denise Van Outen.
The 32-year-old musical theatre actor insists he isn't worried about his future without the 39-year-old actress because he is just focused on making sure the pair's three-year-old daughter Betsy doesn't get dragged into a messy divorce.
He said: "Nothing really worries me. My daughter's future is a thing I wish for - I wish for her to be happy.
"Things come along that you have to deal with but there are no actual worries - I tend to try to face things head on.
"It can be hard but it's about holding your dignity. I know my principles - when to speak and when not to."
Despite the pair's break up, Lee - who has been married to Denise for four years - insists he is "pretty happy" with his life since he shot to fame after winning BBC show 'Any Dream Will Do' in 2007.
Speaking to Cumbria Live, he added: "I'm pretty happy with the way the past six years have gone. I have got a beautiful daughter. It's important to balance my family life."
