Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen hopes the 'Changing Rooms' reboot divides opinion on social media.
The 56-year-old TV star is set to co-host the Channel 4 reboot and he's promised that the DIY show will deliver lots of "Marmite" moments.
Laurence - who starred in the show's original run and will host the reboot alongside Anna Richardson - explained: "If we don’t get a reaction, we haven’t done our job.
"Each room is going to have elements of Marmite and there will be things some people absolutely can’t bear. But that’s the whole point, isn’t it?
"There will be some challenging moments where people just go, ‘That’s disgusting’."
Laurence thinks the reboot is duty-bound to divide opinions.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I hope people will be talking the next day and saying, ‘OMG he went too far with that swing’.
"'Changing Rooms' shouldn’t be something where you go, ‘That’s nice’, and then watch tumbleweed."
The original 'Changing Rooms' - which was hosted by Carol Smillie - was a huge hit on the BBC between 1996 and 2004.
And Laurence thinks it remains the ultimate makeover show, even though various alternatives have emerged over the last 17 years.
Laurence reflected: "We went into the pandemic as part of a grey nation where everything was very neutral and now we do have a hunger for individuality. Being stuck within four grey walls has made everyone realise how dull that kind of decorating is.
"'Changing Rooms' is all about personality. It has always been the 'Carry On' film of the makeover show and I felt very strongly that its originality would be safeguarded in this reboot. And it has. It’s been extraordinarily fun to make."
