Laura Whitmore is having therapy.
The 38-year-old former 'Love Island' presenter - who first found fame on MTV News - revealed she is finally having therapy after being afraid to seek help for many years.
Speaking about being offered counselling while working on her new ITVX series 'Laura Whitmore Investigates', which looks at incels, rough sex and cyberstalking, she told The Telegraph: "I've never had that before and I kind of wish I had done it before now... for any show."
Laura added she "should have asked for help....'because people don't offer things.
"Maybe [I] didn't want to be seen to be weak, so I didn't. The more I work in TV the more I will be like, 'I'm finding this really hard'."
Laura also claimed she has dealt with a lot of hardship in her career, explaining: "Sometimes – a lot of the time – your job is to turn up and look a certain way. I've worked on shows where I've had no control over my script or producing or anything.
"When I first started on Radio 5 Live, I had comments on Twitter saying, 'Why have you got that bimbo on that slot?' […] I never really feel like I fit in anywhere, but does anyone? Once I can add something to the narrative and I'm getting something from it I'll b***** well do it, and I hope I'll do it to the best ability I can.
'I have a lovely life, but I will also call out the s***, because I hope I'll be able to continue to do this for years and it will get better and I'll have more power. I've definitely got more power now than I did 10 years ago in this industry."
Laura previously revealed that filming the show has made her more aware of her one online safety.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, she said: "It's definitely made me more aware, like when I put things online maybe don't say where you are at that exact time - which is hard when you were on live telly - like when you're travelling on trains and things like that.
"So these three films that I've made about different topics, the darker side of humanity looking at everything from toxic masculinity to cyberstalking and more, I need to talk about these things because if we don't talk about it, it won't get better."
