Laura Main says her boyfriend cries when he watches Call The Midwife.
The 33-year-old actress stars as Shelagh Turner, previously Sister Bernadette, in the BBC One drama and she's revealed her boyfriend, theatre actor Stephen McGlynn, often has to fight back tears during more emotional episodes.
Laura said: "He often has a tear in his eye at the end.
"Men really like the show - it seems to really appeal to everyone."
Laura also admitted that as her character has just adopted a daughter, filming scenes for the upcoming fourth series - which is set to air early next year - has made her broody.
She told The Sun newspaper: "Alice, the baby who plays her, is so gorgeous. She is getting used to me now and looks pleased to see me on set which is nice.
"It's lovely to have a cuddle. It's made me think I'd like to be a mum."
Speaking about her character's evolution, she added: "My character started out as Sister Bernadette, she's married and she's now Mrs. Turner and she has two children - her stepson and her adopted baby.
"Life has really changed for her. She is having the best time. For me, I am very much aware that it's a special job."
