Larry Lamb

Larry Lamb would love to be in two intimate relationships at the same time with everyone's consent.

The 65-year-old actor - who has been married three times - has grown fond of the idea of having a polyamorous romance like his 'Love and Marriage' character Tommy Sutherland, who sleeps with lover Rowan (Celia Imrie) with his wife's permission, because he doesn't think tying the knot is "important".

Larry said: "I would absolutely have an open relationship like Rowan and Tommy's - there is nothing wrong with it. It's just extending the experience.

"We shouldn't be bound by rules that do nothing for the way we live because life is about living and improving and going forward, not about staying the same. Marriage isn't the important thing, relationships are important. How you want to deal with them is your business. I've done it both ways."

Larry believes people should be more "open-minded" about relationships as different things work for different people.

He told The Sun newspaper: "Rowan and Tommy's relationship is not illicit at all. His wife knows about it and there are rules and regulations. It has all been negotiated.

"So it's not like they are having a dodgy affair. I understand it's a controversial idea for some people. But there are all sorts of relationships with all sorts of people.

"They just need to be understood and seen to work in the right way for those people. Relationships are just extensions of human nature.

"Lots of people around the world live in very successful bigamous relationships. They have several wives and they all get on and manage to share.

"It is just a different take on what might be considered the norm and people should be more open-minded to that. There are some strange attitudes out there."
